Redefining Neurodiversity Consultancy.

An Introduction

Neurodiversity is far more common than many people realise. Around 1% of the population is autistic, and around 5% has ADHD — though the real figures are likely much higher. Many neurodivergent people live with multiple neurotypes, including dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia.

While there are strengths and gifts associated with neurodivergence, the challenges can be significant. Many people experience mental health difficulties, burnout, or barriers in education and employment. The Office for National Statistics reports that employment rates for autistic people can be as low as 30%, demonstrating the scale of inequalities that still exist.

Not everyone who is neurodivergent has a diagnosis. Long waiting lists, limited access to assessment, and low awareness among professionals mean many people are treated for the consequences — anxiety, low mood, burnout — without their underlying neurotype ever being recognised.

We know that simple, thoughtful changes to workplaces and systems can have a profound impact on people’s lives. As Consultant Psychiatrists, we bring a deep understanding of neurodivergence, mental health and the realities people face — alongside extensive experience supporting families, schools, organisations and wider communities.
